The homeowner wanted a warm, apothecary-inspired kitchen that felt welcoming, functional, and full of character. Alder Ethos in Wren brought that vision to life with a rich, inviting finish that captured the desired warmth without the weight or cost of walnut.

Brass finishes, reeded glass accents, open shelving, and detailed crown moulding complete the look, blending vintage charm with modern refinement.

Floating Shelf Feature Wall
The open shelves above the sink became a favourite feature for the homeowner. Finished to match the cabinetry and enhanced with integrated lighting, they add warmth, display space, and visual openness.

Refined Hardware Choices
Longer pulls were used throughout the kitchen to create a cleaner, more consistent look. On the four upper cabinet doors, the hardware was intentionally kept different, allowing them to stand out as a subtle design feature.

Functional Cooking Zone
Utensil and spice pullouts flank the range, keeping everyday cooking essentials close at hand and supporting a smoother workflow.

Custom Hood Design
The soft, plaster-finished hood adds a sculptural counterpoint to the stained cabinetry. Crafted by the installer and client, it creates a striking focal point while softening the overall look of the space.
